Cars in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities stated they were contacted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important official stated the incident made him stunned and required to be resolved promptly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
